Circulation Policies

We extend a warm welcome to you and invite you to discover and use the wide variety
of resources available in the Birchard Public Library system.

Borrowing Privileges

To apply for a library card, patrons must present, in person, proof of current address and a photo ID. Minors, age 17 and under, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has an adult card in good standing and who will sign an acceptance of responsibility statement for the child's card. Library cards must be presented to check out materials and they may be used the same day they are issued.

Introductory Borrowing Card

New library users receive an Introductory Card and can have up to 10 items checked out at a time and up to 10 items on hold. If after 6 months the card is clear of all overdue items, lost or missing items, and fees, the card will be converted to allow full borrowing privileges.

E-Card

Apply for an e-Card which limits access to only digital resources here.
