Does the Library accept donated materials?
- YES-- We are happy to accept donations of new and used books, CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs.
- NO-- We will not accept the following kinds of materials: magazines, textbooks older than 5 years, Reader's Digest condensed books, National Geographic, records, and encyclopedia sets that are older than 10 years.
Will the Library accept all books?
- NO-- The Library cannot use and will not accept books that are not in good condition, e.g. books with yellowed, musty, water-damaged, moldy, or mildewed pages.
What happens to the materials that I donate?
- All materials are reviewed by a librarian and checked with our collection requirements and selection guidelines. Those materials not added to the collection are given to the Friends of the Birchard Library who sell them at the Friends' book sales. The proceeds from these book sales are used to assist the Library with special projects.
